Recently, I’ve been asked what some of my favorite podcasts to listen to at work are. I absolutely love podcasts: recording them AND listening to them.
In this post, I’ll share my favorite 22 shows I listen to each week with why I love them.
Myths & Story Podcasts to listen to at work
This section is the longest, but it’s the most fun out the group I have here. I love listening to these because not every moment of every day can be inspiration or educational. Then we’d never learn anything or be inspired ever!
So, if you’re looking for a story podcast to listen to at work then you’re in the right place. A good story can make the workday go quickly!
If you love scary stories and thrillers, you’ll love Lore! Aaron retells true stories from the darker sides of humanity.
You can check more about Lore here.
Let’s Talk about Myths, Baby!
This is one of my favorite podcasts. I love Greek Mythology, but this is my favorite because of the host. Liv is unapologetic about her feminist views, isn’t afraid of using curse words and does a GREAT job of retelling stories from Ancient Greece!
Check out more Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby! here.
Myths And Legends
This podcast retells Myths, Folklore, Legends and Fairy Tales from all over the world. Jason not only tells these stories well, but he does it in cheeky and modern way.
Check out more about Myths and Legends here.
This podcast is from the same people that do Myths and Legends. It’s almost the same, except Jason retells classic literature. Think Frankenstein, Dracula and Sherlock Holms. These classic lit. pieces are pretty tough to read on their own, but Jason makes them interesting.
This is a fun podcast about mythology from around the world. Like the title says, they’re drunk when they tell stories. I like the hosts because I get a lot of the references they make. They’re fun hosts and this is a good show to have on in the background.
Check out more about Drunk Mythology here.
These next two podcasts are from the Parcast Network. They produce a ton of really high quality shows and I recommend listening to anything they produce. I listen to a lot from Parcast, but these two are my favorite.
You can tell by now that I have a thing for mythology. This podcast not only retells myths from around the world, but they bring in voice actors to immerse you in the story. The narrator is fantastic and this show is well produced.
Check out more about Mythology here.
Tales is all about retelling fairy tales in their original form. Dark and NOT suited for children. This show tells fairytales as stories, but bases them off their earliest versions. Like the story of the original sleeping beauty is not at all like the Disney version you know!
Check out more about Tales here.
Get inspired and motivated at work with these podcasts
If you’re on my website, then you probably already know I LOVE sharing other women’s stories or inspiration. And podcasts are the perfect way to do it! These are a few of my favorite inspirational podcasts.

The Road To Self Love
Paul Fishman is a Self-Love coach and that’s what this show is all about. It’s an interview style show. The only thing is that this is recorded as a YouTube video in his car, so the audio isn’t the best, but the topics are important!
Check out more about The Road To Self Love here.
Skimm’d From The Couch
This show comes from the founders of the news network the Skimm. They have a news podcast that I love (check out the bottom of this post for that). But, in this show, they interview women in high powered positions or who have made a difference in this world.
Check out more about this podcast and my favorite news podcast by the Skimm here.
How It Is
This show is from Hello Sunshine by Reese Witherspoon. This show brings on women just to hear their stories. Usually the stories are based off an idea, like time or work. I love this show as it’s a space for women to hear other women’s stories.
Check out Hello Sunshine and more How It Is here.
Podcasts are a PERFECT way to learn new skills! Hosts can take you deeper on a subject than any video can. And the best part? It’s just audio so you can learn while doing other things! This is a perfect way to spend time at work, right?
This was the first podcast I’ve ever listened to years ago. Mignon has been doing this podcast way before podcasts were popular. This show teaches you interesting parts about language in 10-15ish minutes.
This show is from the same network as Grammar Girl is and is the same concept. The hosts shares tips and tricks about money in a 10-15ish minute show.
Check out more Grammar Girl and Money Girl here.
Just like with learning new skills, I LOVE keeping up with wellness, especially through podcasts. Here are just two of my favorite wellness podcasts. Life is more than just about work, so I love listening to these while I’m at work.

News and world events
I am a firm believer in staying up to date with what is happening in the world. But, there’s so many ways to stay well-informed that it can be a little overwhelming sometimes. That’s why I love news podcasts.
These recommendations are about 10 minutes long and perfect for a commute home after work!
This is a show from NPR that gives you national and world news in about 10 minutes.
Check out more about Up First and NPR here.
I LOVE this podcast and theSkimm. They “Skimm” the news and break down what’s happening so you stay informed, but saves you time. They break news down in a quick 10 minutes, but in an interesting way.
Check out more from theSkimm here.
Business and online marketing
If you’re not an entrepreneur or looking to have space in the online world, then feel free to skip this section!

The Marie Forleo Podcast
I absolutely love Marie Forleo. She’s a great teacher and this show is a wonderful resource. But more than that, she’s inspiring and isn’t afraid to show her fun side.

The Influencer Podcast
This show is full of tactical advice if you’re looking to reach people online. Julie’s a great teacher who pretty much will call you out on your excuses!

Amy Poerterfield is all about actionable and do-able advice. She’s pretty “no-nonsense”. This show is a must listen if you’re trying to learn the online space.
